January 13, 2011 – Wellington, FL – In the first event of the SSG ‘Go Clean for the Green’ promotion held during the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival, Canada’s Yann Candele earned the $3,000 bonus for winning the $30,000 WEF Challenge Cup Series Round I while wearing SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves.
A total of 26 riders competed in the $30,000 WEF Challenge Cup Series Round I held Thursday, January 13, with seven of those advancing to the jump-off. Candele had the advantage of being the final rider in the jump-off with Redefin, a 13-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding owned by Susan Grange. Wearing SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves on his way to victory earned Candele a $3,000 bonus from SSG Riding Gloves.
“Of course I wore my gloves!” exclaimed Candele following the presentation. “I have ridden with SSG gloves for a long time and the new ‘Digital’ gloves are lovely. It can rain and they don’t slip, and they are very good when it is hot. I have used them for a long time, so for me it was good.”
Although Candele has been a loyal SSG Riding Gloves customer, he admitted, “I was actually hoping that a few people didn’t know about the promotion! I think it is a great challenge. It is a very good idea and they are great gloves, so I think that everyone is in a win-win situation.”
SSG Riding Gloves is offering a total of $57,000 in cash bonuses for riders competing at the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival running January 12 through April 3 in Wellington, FL. For the weekly Amateur-Owner Jumper Low Classic and the weekly Amateur-Owner Jumper High Classic, a bonus of $1,000 will be awarded to the winning rider if they compete wearing SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves with the SSG horse head logo clearly visible on the wrist.
