The site was created by Canadian rider Barbara Fogler, who was looking for a simple and interesting way to connect with horsey friends from all over the world.

Barbara has owned horses for over 25 years and bought her first horse over the objections of her family who insisted that "this phase would never last." It was her goal to create a community where riders from every discipline could get together in a lively and welcoming online environment.

Welcoming is definitely the word to describe the Barnmice.com community. And addictive as well! The site has fast become a meeting place where riders from all over the world share videos, photos and stories, and meet friends from every walk of equine life.

As a unique addition to its social community, Barnmice.com also hosts Vet Clinic and Healthy Rider specialty channels where experts in veterinary medicine, rider fitness, psychology and nutrition are always on hand with new videos and answers to questions from the site's members.

"I wanted to give Barnmice.com members access to the types of professionals that could help us as complete athletes. Nutritional help, fitness expertise and even help for show ring jitters are incredibly valuable but not always available to every rider," Barbara observes.
