During the first and second rounds of Saturday evening's €300,000 Monte Carlo Grand Prix Grand Prix, a special ceremony was held to present JustWorld International with a check for $125,000, generously donated by Chesapeake Petroleum, the Davis McCullough Foundation and the Global Champions Tour. As the presentation took place, a 17-minute video highlighting JustWorld's work in Cambodia played on the video screen, giving spectators the opportunity to witness the work being done at one of JustWorld's project sites. "I was deeply moved by the extremely generous donation," said Jessica Newman, Executive Director of JustWorld International. "The Global Champions Tour’s Jumping of Monaco provided a privileged opportunity for JustWorld International to gain international exposure and raise awareness about the issues affecting children in the developing world. I am enormously grateful to Victoria McCullough whose commitment and support of JustWorld International have made these opportunities possible." The CSI5* Monte Carlo is the third leg of the Global Champions Tour of which JustWorld International is the official charity partner. On Saturday afternoon, the €25,000 Chesapeake Petroleum Davis McCullough Foundation 1.50m Prix held for the benefit of JustWorld International was won by Great Britain's Michael Whitaker riding Insul Tech Quidame. An evening dedicated to raising awareness for JustWorld International was held at the Monte Carlo Beach Hotel. All of the top competitors were in attendance including JustWorld Rider Ambassadors Markus Fuchs and Gregoire Oberson of Switzerland, Philippe Rozier of France, and Jean-Claude van Geenberghe representing the Ukraine. During the competition, each time one of the Rider Ambassadors entered the ring, the announcer discussed their involvement with JustWorld International. "JustWorld International received maximum exposure at this very exciting show," said Canada's Rhonda Rioux, a member of the JustWorld International Board of Directors. "I thought that the entire show was exquisite and also featured good sportsmanship and top quality horses. The fact that we got to promote JustWorld International in so many ways was excellent and Jan Tops, who is one of the horse show organizers in addition to being the man behind the Global Champions Tour, was committed to giving JustWorld as much exposure as possible. No one left the show unaware of the important work being done by JustWorld International." Founded in 2002, JustWorld International raises awareness and funds in the equestrian community to support humanitarian projects that benefit impoverished communities and children in the developing world. Cooperating with local partners, JustWorld International implements sustainable, culturally sensitive education, health and vocational projects.
