The Jump Canada Hall of Fame website can be accessed through the Jump Canada homepage, www.jumpcanada.ca, or by going directly to www.jumpcanada.ca/HallofFame/Home.html. The bilingual site features profiles of the inaugural inductees, a photo gallery of the 2006 event, and special acknowledgement of the generous sponsors that helped make the evening an overwhelming success. In addition, the nomination criteria for potential Hall of Fame candidates are also available. The current categories recognized by the Jump Canada Hall of Fame include Builder - Individual, Builder - Organization, Pony, Hunter, Jumper, Rider, Sponsor, Media, Official, Trainer/Coach, and Team/Event. "Our new Hall of Fame website provides a positive reminder of those special animals, individuals and organizations that were inducted into the Hall of Fame during the inaugural gala ceremony," explained Mark Samuel, Chair of the Jump Canada Hall of Fame. "The first celebration of the heroes of our sport rekindled many memories and began a dialogue within the horse community regarding other possible candidates and their achievements. The nomination process gives our membership an opportunity to share their stories about those who have made our sport special, and to put forward their suggestions for future inductees." Submissions for consideration for the 2007 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony are due to the Nomination Committee by May 15, 2007. Nominations not accepted for 2007 will be retained and considered in future years. For full nomination criteria, please visit www.jumpcanada.ca/HallofFame/Home.html. The 2007 Jump Canada Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Gala will be held as part of a black-tie gala on Sunday, November 4, 2007, at the Royal York in Toronto, ON. Jump Canada is a committee of Equine Canada responsible for all hunter, equitation and jumper activities in Canada from the grass roots to the international level. Jump Canada is governed by a board of directors, the majority of whom are elected by the stakeholders in the sport.
