EMG Partners with Greenhawk to Present Hunter Classic Series

May 13, 2004 – Palgrave, Ontario – The Equestrian Management Group (EMG) is pleased to announce a sponsorship agreement that will see Greenhawk become the title sponsor of the EMG Hunter Classic Series.

Consisting of six qualifying competitions held throughout the season as well as the ‘Greenhawk on the Avenue’ Hunter Classic Final to be held during the Autumn Classic from September 8-12, 2004, the agreement will see Greenhawk sponsor a total of 30 classes as well as the five divisions at the Final.

The ‘Greenhawk on the Avenue’ EMG Hunter Classic Series consists of five divisions including the Adult Amateur Hunter 18-35, Adult Amateur Hunter 36 and over, Children’s Hunter, Amateur Owner Hunter, and Junior Hunter divisions. The final class in each division at each competition will be designated a ‘Greenhawk on the Avenue’ Hunter Classic Qualifier and will offer $330 in prize money.

By participating in any of the ‘Greenhawk on the Avenue’ Hunter Classic Qualifiers, riders are eligible to compete in the Greenhawk Hunter Classic Final. At the Final, there will be no entry fees and a total of $5,000 in prize money, divided into $1,000 for each of the five divisions, will be offered along with coolers and additional awards.

“Greenhawk has been involved with sponsoring jumper divisions at other shows in the past, and we had an interest in supporting the hunter divisions as well,” explains Kelly Nicholls, Director of Sales and Marketing for Greenhawk. “Many of our customers told us they missed competing in the Hunter Classic, and Greenhawk wanted to help revive the popular competition.”

In addition to its sponsorship of the ‘Greenhawk on the Avenue’ EMG Hunter Classic Series, ‘Greenhawk on the Avenue’ will also have a mobile retail unit on-site during the EMG competition season as part of its commitment to the sport and its participants.

“We view this as an opportunity to be more involved at the show level,” notes Nicholls. “We can be on-site throughout Palgrave’s competition season, providing us with an excellent opportunity to interact with our customers.”
