Vermont Summer Festival’s Lodging Partners
Showcase Manchester Area

Barrows House is a favorite among Vermont Summer Festival competitors.
The historic Dorset Inn is one of many local inns offering both charming accommodation and upscale dining in a relaxed country setting.

June 8, 2015 – East Dorset, Vermont – While exhibitors are preparing for another memorable competition at the Vermont Summer Festival, its area lodging partners are preparing to welcome them with all the comfort, charm and convenience that the area has to offer. The Vermont Summer Festival brings thousands of equestrians and their families to the six-week circuit, which runs from June 30 through August 9, 2015, at Harold Beebe Farm in East Dorset, VT.

Lodging opportunities for the Vermont Summer Festival range from the perfect weekend stay to a home away from home for the entire summer circuit. Accommodations include quaint country establishments like the family-owned Marbledge Motel or Four Winds Country Motel, to full-service resorts like The Inns at Equinox, all showcasing the best of Southern Vermont.

“The support that we receive from the area lodges and inns cannot be underestimated,” said Ruth Lacey, Vermont Summer Festival Marketing Director. “The innkeepers welcome our competitors to the area, and ensure that they are comfortable while showing in Vermont. Many of the area inns have developed their pet policies with Vermont Summer Festival horse show guests in mind. And, because most of the motels and inns are privately owned, the experience is much more personal than can be found in more urban areas.”

A summer-favorite among equestrians, Vermont locals also eagerly await the show season with excitement. Chiefly, the owners of local accommodation sites prepare their properties with equine-types in mind. Partners, including The INN at Willow Pond, The Aerie Inn of Vermont, Olympia Lodge, Lodge at Bromley, and The Dorset Inn all offer pet-friendly options for the ever-important horse show dog.

Many lodging partners, including The Aerie Inn of Vermont, have added RV hook-ups with electricity, allowing exhibitors to bring their home with them when they hit the road.

“We can accommodate more RVs than ever this year and anticipate that the spaces will go quickly,” said Rick Travers, who owns The Aerie Inn of Vermont. He is also excited to unveil several upgrades at the property. “We have three rooms that are totally remodeled - bathrooms, carpets, windows, mattresses, etc. - and next year we plan for three more rooms to be upgraded.”

For over 20 years, the Vermont Summer Festival has attracted exhibitors and their families to the Manchester region in southern Vermont. Thanks to the 2015 lodging partners, accommodations are a breeze, leaving more time for horse showing and exploring the wide variety of area amenities including restaurants, outdoor activities, and shopping.
