June 1, 2015 – Langley, British Columbia – For the second week in a row, it was a hunter competitor that rode away $1,000 richer thanks to the SSG Gloves “Go Clean for the Green” promotion running throughout the 2015 Thunderbird Show Park competition season in Langley, BC.

In the opening week of competition, Morgan Thomas won the $10,000 International Gems USHJA International Hunter Derby while wearing his SSG ‘Digital’ riding gloves to claim a $1,000 bonus. The following week, during the CSI2* BC Open, Bill Ulmer topped a 29-horse starting field to win the $3,000 Dexter Associates Realty Canadian Hunter Derby on Saturday, May 30. Ulmer was riding Beach Drive, a 12-year-old Oldenburg gelding, for owner Susan Lund.

As Ulmer was also wearing SSG ‘Digitals’, he was awarded a $1,000 bonus in recognition to his loyalty to the Canadian glove manufacturer.

“I think the SSG bonus program is brilliant,” said Ulmer. “From a marketing stand point, it is genius! It gets you to put the gloves on, which is the first step to trying them. After this program started and I tried them, I started wearing SSG Gloves all the time. Now I have a box full of SSG Gloves!”

Ulmer of Kelowna, BC, is a past winner in the SSG “Go Clean for the Green” promotion having also won in 2013 riding Beach Drive, his partner of the past four years.

“I like that the SSG Gloves do not bleed and turn your hands black,” said Ulmer. “The gloves fit great and accommodate a man’s hand very well. I love that I can wear my watch and the gloves seem to conform around it. They are wonderful gloves. I would tell any rider to try them and compare them to other brands. The SSG Gloves will speak for themselves!”

Now in its fifth year, SSG Gloves is offering a total of $12,000 in bonus money to both hunter and jumper competitors throughout the 2015 show season at Thunderbird. A $1,000 bonus is on offer to the winner of designated grand prix and hunter events if they are wearing SSG ‘Digital’ style riding gloves. If the winning rider in any designated event is wearing SSG ‘Digitals’ with the horse head logo clearly visible in all rounds of competition, they will be presented with a bonus cheque in front of the SSG signature jump during the awards presentation.
