January 18, 2015 – Wellington, FL – Emanuel Andrade and Victoria Colvin were back-to-back winners in the SSG Gloves “Go Clean for the Green” promotion on Saturday, January 17, at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL. Andrade was awarded a $1,000 bonus from the Canadian riding gloves manufacturer for wearing SSG ‘Digitals’ on his way to victory in the High Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic while Colvin did exactly the same in the Sleepy P Ranch High Junior Jumper Classic to also claim a $1,000 bonus in recognition of her loyalty to the SSG Gloves brand.

In the $15,000 High Amateur-Owner Classic, Andrade had three horses in the starting field of 36 entries. He qualified all three for the 11-horse jump-off, and lead the way by posting a clear round in a time of 38.67 riding Sothis D Ouilly, his nine-year-old grey selle francais mare. None who followed were able to catch his time. In fact, Andrade proved to be his own closest competition, taking second place with Natif des Roches with a jump-off time of 39.14 seconds.

Andrade has been a previous winner in the SSG Gloves promotion while competing in the High Junior Jumper division. Now 18, the Venezuelan is contesting the High Amateur-Owner division for the first time. He is already off to a strong start at the Winter Equestrian Festival, claiming his first High Amateur-Owner Classic win, as well as the High Amateur-Owner division championship, in week two of competition.

“They always are very lucky,” said Andrade of his SSG ‘Digital’ riding gloves. “Last week, I didn’t use them and I didn’t win. This week, I used them and I won!

“They are very good quality,” continued Andrade. “You are promoting wearing the gloves, and the riders have a big incentive to use them to win a bonus.”

As for how he intends to spend his $1,000 bonus from SSG Gloves, Andrade generously said, “I am going to give this to my grooms because they have been working very hard and they deserve it.”

Colvin has also been a past winner in the SSG Gloves “Go Clean for the Green” promotion, and added another $1,000 to her bonus money tally for her win in the $10,000 High Junior Jumper Classic, presented by Sleepy P Ranch. With the advantage of being last to go in a four-horse jump-off, Colvin guided Karen Long Dwight’s Don Juan to a clear round in a time of 42.91 to secure the victory over Lucas Porter, who had stopped the clock in 44.17 seconds riding Phineas.

“It’s amazing!” said Colvin, who is a loyal customer and always wears SSG ‘Digital’ riding gloves no matter where she is competing. “It’s such an amazing promotion that SSG Gloves is doing. The gloves are very comfortable, they are airy, and they have a very nice grip on the reins. To be able to win the bonus in the Highs for wearing the gloves is amazing!”

SSG Gloves will continue to offer a $3,000 bonus in each of the weekly Ruby et Violette WEF Challenge Cup Series events, as well as a $1,000 bonus in the High Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic and the Sleepy P Ranch High Junior Jumper Classic competitions. If the winning rider in any of these three competitions is wearing SSG ‘Digital’ style gloves with the SSG horse head logo clearly visible, they will be presented with the SSG Gloves bonus during the awards presentation. A total of $60,000 in bonus money is on offer from SSG Gloves at the 2015 Winter Equestrian Festival.

SSG ‘Digital’ riding gloves are available for purchase at numerous Wellington locations including Tackeria and Dover Saddlery, as well as on-site at the Winter Equestrian Festival show grounds at various retailers including Running Fox and Hadfield’s Saddlery.
