January 8, 2015 –
Lamaze was the first rider to post a clear round over the track set by course designer Eric Hasbrouck, and was soon joined by eight others to form an exciting jump-off field. As the first to challenge the shortened jump-off track, Lamaze laid down the gauntlet, jumping clear in a time of 38.18 seconds riding Rosana du Park, owned by Artisan Farms in partnership with Lamaze’s Torrey Pines Stable. None who followed could better his performance, giving Lamaze the first win of the season in both the Ruby et Violette WEF Challenge Cup Series as well as the SSG Gloves “Go Clean for the Green” promotion. Each week, a $3,000 bonus is on offer to the winning rider if they wear SSG ‘Digital’ riding gloves in all rounds of competition. As SSG ‘Digitals’ are already Lamaze’s glove of choice, it was no surprise that he picked up the bonus money as a reward for his loyalty to the SSG brand. “It’s fantastic!” said Lamaze of the SSG “Go Clean for the Green” promotion. “It’s a bonus to the riders, and every little bit helps. These classes have good prize money to begin with, and this makes it even more exciting. And on top of it, I enjoy wearing the gloves, so that makes it even better. “It’s in its fifth year now, and I think the riders really enjoy it,” continued Lamaze of the SSG Gloves promotion. “I think somebody has to be crazy not to be wearing them when there is that bonus! First of all, they are great gloves to wear, and when there is that kind of gift at the end, there is no reason not to wear them.” SSG Gloves will continue to offer a $3,000 bonus in each of the weekly Ruby et Violette WEF Challenge Cup Series events, as well as a $1,000 bonus in the High Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic and the Sleepy P Ranch High Junior Jumper Classic competitions. If the winning rider in any of these three competitions is wearing SSG ‘Digital’ style gloves with the SSG horse head logo clearly visible, they will be presented with the SSG Gloves bonus during the awards presentation. A total of $60,000 in bonus money is on offer from SSG Gloves at the 2015 Winter Equestrian Festival. SSG ‘Digital’ riding gloves are available for purchase at numerous Wellington locations including Tackeria, as well as on-site at the Winter Equestrian Festival show grounds at various retailers including Running Fox and Hadfield’s Saddlery.
