September 24, 2014 – Petaluma, California – Four more winners claimed bonus money in the SSG Gloves “Roar for More” promotion held during the Strides & Tides horse show held September 10-14 at Sonoma Horse Park in Petaluma, California.

Out of a starting field of 24 entries, Carly Bechtel riding her long-term partner of seven years, Walk This Way, took the top spot in the $10,000 3’3” Circle Oak Equine Junior/Amateur Hunter Derby and received a $500 dollar bonus in the “Roar for More” promotion for sporting SSG ‘Digital’ riding gloves on her way to victory.

“I love his horse, he is my security blanket,” said Bechtel, who planned to spend her bonus on horse cookies for Walk This Way. “I love the comfort of the ‘Digitals’ and the long life of them, and I also like that I can wear them in both the hunter and jumper rings. Thank you to SSG Gloves for this super fun promotion!”

Stevie Sorenson was also a winner in the hunter ring. Sorenson was sporting SSG ‘Digitals’ as she guided her 13-year-old Trakehner, Georgetown, to first place in the $1,000 Rainbow Equus Meadows Junior/Amateur Modified Hunter Classic.

“This horse lives in a huge field all year long and just hangs out, shows, and wins – he is a derby master!” said Sorenson, who won a $1,000 “Roar for Four” bonus during last year’s Strides & Tides competition. “I love, love, love these gloves! My hands don’t slip off the reins ever. I have actually been showing in this pair for two years and they barely show any wear at all. However, I should buy a new pair for the derby next week. I want to look perfect! Thank you SSG Gloves, this is the best bonus program ever!”

Wearing SSG ‘Digital’ riding gloves for the first time, Alex Maida encountered a nice surprise when she earned a $500 bonus for her win the $1,000 Charleigh’s Cookies Adult Amateur Hunter Classic catch-riding Woodstock, owned by Olivia Hellman.

“This is the first time I have ever worn ‘Digitals’,” said Maida. “I heard about the SSG Gloves “Roar for More” bonus program and thought, ‘why not?’ They are now my new lucky gloves that I will always wear when competing!”

Over in the jumper ring, Macella O’Neill clinched victory in the $2,000 1.20m Solea Equestrian Jumper Classic for a $500 bonus in the SSG Gloves promotion. O’Neill was riding the 14-year-old, selle francais gelding, Murka’s Milord D’elle, owned by Colleen May and Kerry Burrows.

“Murka’s Milord D’elle is an absolutely delightful horse that is nothing but a joy to be around,” said O’Neill, who was also a winner in the SSG Gloves “Roar for More” promotion during the HMI May Equestrian Challenge. “He has a great sense of humour and the will to win. Not to mention, he is owned by the two most fun and supportive horse owners, ever!

“Kerry and Colleen not only ride and show themselves, but they also faithfully support all the Diamond Mountain Stables riders while cheering on their own horses, no matter the outcome,” continued O’Neill. “This bonus program has converted our whole barn to the SSG way. Thank you for this fantastic program!”

Now in its third year of partnership with Sonoma Horse Park, SSG Gloves is offering a total of $12,000 in bonus money to competitors through its “Roar for More” promotion during the 2014 show season.

Designed to reward competitors for their loyalty to the SSG Gloves brand, the SSG Gloves ‘Roar for More’ promotion sees different classes selected as eligible events at each horse show, with a $500 bonus on offer to each of the winning riders if they are wearing SSG ‘Digital’ style riding gloves with the horse head logo clearly visible in all rounds of competition.
