January 16, 2014 – Wellington, FL – Alvaro 'Doda' Miranda claimed a $3,000 bonus for wearing SSG Gloves on his way to victory in the $34,000 Ruby et Violette WEF Challenge Cup Series Round II as part of the SSG Gloves 'Go Clean for the Green' promotion held at the 2014 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL.

A total of 99 entries chose January 16 as the day to try their luck in the $34,000 Ruby et Violette WEF Challenge Cup Series Round II. Eleven succeeded in finding their way fault-free over the brilliant track set by Belgian course designer Luc Musette. In a thrilling jump-off, the times continued to get faster and faster with the lead changing hands several times. As the second to last challenger, Miranda flew over the course and through the finish line in a time of 39.71 seconds riding AD Uutje. Last to go, Charlie Jacobs and Flaming Star finished just off the pace, giving Miranda his first victory of the 2014 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival.

In addition to the win, Miranda, a Brazilian Olympic medalist who is based in The Netherlands, was awarded a $3,000 bonus for wearing SSG 'Digital' style riding gloves on his way to victory.

"I asked my groom, Esmar, for the gloves from last year and he reminded me that they had been stolen at a show in Europe, so I went quick and bought new ones," said Miranda, who was a winner in the SSG "Go Clean for the Green" promotion in 2013. "Honestly speaking, I think the gloves are very good. They have a good grip, and are not so thick on your hands. When you ride, you have grip, but it is like you are wearing nothing."

SSG Gloves will continue to offer a $3,000 bonus in each of the weekly WEF Challenge Cup Series events, as well as a $1,000 bonus in the High Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic and the High Junior Jumper Classic competitions. If the winning rider in any of these three competitions is wearing SSG 'Digital' style gloves with the SSG horse head logo clearly visible, they will be presented with bonus money during the awards presentation. A total of $60,000 in bonus money is on offer from SSG Gloves at the 2014 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival.

SSG 'Digital' riding gloves are available for purchase at numerous Wellington locations, including Tackeria, as well as on-site at the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival show grounds at various retailers including Running Fox, Jods, and Beval Saddlery.
