The event will mark Karolyi’s fifth time representing Venezuela in Nations’ Cup competition. The 26-year-old professional show jumping athlete previously competed at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, where Venezuela captured the team gold medal; at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico; and at the 2009 and 2012 editions of the Nations’ Cup in Wellington, FL. Karolyi will be riding alongside teammates Pablo Barrios, Luis Larrazabal and Andres Rodriguez. Eddie Macken will act as chef d’equipe. “I’m very excited, I think it’s a strong team,” said Karolyi. “We have riders and horses that are both experienced and talented. We were thrilled that Venezuela was invited to send a team, and I’m excited to be a part of it!” Karolyi will ride Amigo, a nine-year-old Zangersheide gelding (Coriano Z x Silvester) owned by Hollow Creek Farm. In June, the pair captured the $75,000 Upperville Jumper Classic at the Upperville Colt and Horse Show in Upperville, Virginia. Hollow Creek Farm is a large show jumping training business operated by Karolyi and business partner, Andrea King, in Aiken, South Carolina.
