June 27, 2013 – Petaluma, California – Chelsea Jones was awarded a $1,000 bonus as part of the SSG Riding Gloves ‘Roar for Four’ promotion after winning the $15,000 Stubben Saddles Grand Prix on June 15 during the HMI June Classic at the Sonoma Horse Park in Petaluma, CA.

Running exclusively at Sonoma Horse Park, the SSG Riding Gloves ‘Roar for Four’ promotion sees four different classes selected as eligible events at each horse show, with a $500 bonus on offer to each of the winning riders if they are wearing one of four styles of SSG riding gloves.

Jones doubled her chances of winning the bonus money, which had doubled to $1,000, by wearing SSG ‘Digitals’ as she qualified two mounts, Charmeur Van De Begijnakker and Nickel de Marsey, for the jump-off.  Five other pairs joined Jones in contesting the shortened track, but her jump-off time of 33.07 seconds riding Nickel de Marsey, a 12-year-old selle francais gelding, could not be beat.  Jones herself came closest, clocking in at 33.73 seconds with Charmeur Van De Begijnakker for second place.

“I couldn’t be more thankful to SSG Gloves,” said Jones who operates Full Circle Farm with business partner Dusty Blackwood.  “It’s rare that the rider gets something for themselves.  It’s so rewarding, and I really look forward to this bonus.”

No stranger to the SSG promotion, now in its second year at the Sonoma Horse Park, Jones had collected a $3,000 bonus after winning the $15,000 Italian Equestrian Grand Prix at last year’s HMI August Classic.

“SSG products are fantastic!” said Jones, 26.  “They are appropriate for any ring at the show.  They are very durable and give me a great feel on the reins.  SSG will always be my glove of choice!”

As there were no ‘Roar for Four’ winners in the hunter divisions during the HMI June Classic, the unclaimed $1,000 in bonus money will carry forward to the next event on the calendar, the HMI Equestrian Classic I running July 23 to 28, 2013.

SSG Gloves is offering a total of $12,000 in bonus money to competitors during the 2013 show season at the Sonoma Horse Park.  In the new ‘Roar for Four’ promotion, riders must be wearing one of four styles of SSG gloves in order to be eligible for the bonus: Digital, Hybrid, Technical, or All-Weather.

Designed to reward competitors for their loyalty to the SSG Riding Gloves brand, a $500 bonus is on offer to the winning rider in designated events at Sonoma Horse Park if they are wearing eligible styles of SSG Riding Gloves with the horse head logo clearly visible in all rounds of competition.  If the winning rider is not wearing SSG Riding Gloves, the bonus money is carried forward to the next event, increasing from $500 to $1,000, etc.

The following events are still to come in the 2013 SSG Riding Gloves ‘Roar for Four’ bonus promotion at Sonoma Horse Park:

HMI Equestrian Classic I - July 23 - 28, 2013

Strides & Tides - September 11 - 15, 2013

SHP Season Finale - September 18 - 22, 2013
