February 27, 2013 – Wellington, Florida
– Emanuel Andrade of Venezuela has continued to dominate the Junior Jumper divisions at the FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL.  Since the start of the 12-week competition, the 16-year-old has captured an impressive six Championship and six Reserve Championship titles.

Riding Boccaccio, owned by Hollow Creek Farm, Andrade won the $10,000 Low Junior Jumper Classic on Sunday, February 24, during week seven.  Having also won a Low Junior Jumper class earlier in the week, Andrade and Boccaccio were awarded the Low Junior Jumper Championship.  Andrade began competing with Boccaccio at the end of 2012.  The 12-year-old grey Belgian Warmblood gelding was formerly shown by Andrade’s trainer, Angel Karolyi, and the pair were members of the Venezuelan Team effort for last year’s $75,000 G&C Farm Nations’ Cup in Wellington, FL.

Riding Carboni, Andrade won the $1,500 Hollow Creek Farm Medium Junior Jumper Class on February 23.  He also finished second in the Medium Junior Jumper class held a day earlier with La Fe Forli, an 11-year-old Silla Argentina gelding.  At the end of the week, Andrade and Carboni tied with Lillie Keenan for the Hollow Creek Farm Medium Junior Jumper Reserve Championship.

In addition to claiming the Low Junior Jumper Championship and the Medium Junior Jumper Reserve Championship titles for week seven, Andrade also made his competition debut riding a new mount, ZZ Top v/h Schaarbroek Z.  It proved to be a successful first outing for the pair, who finished second in the $10,000 High Junior Jumper Classic on February 24.

Formerly under the saddles of both Kevin Staut and Michel Robert of France, ZZ Top v/h Schaarbroek Z then went to Marc Bettinger.  The German jockey and ZZ Top v/h Schaarbroek Z gelding most recently enjoyed a top 10 finish in the €75,000 CSI4* Grand Prix of Amsterdam in January before the 12-year-old Zangersheide gelding arrived in North America as Andrade’s mount.

With his success half-way through the 2013 Winter Equestrian Festival, Andrade is well on his way to repeating last season’s outstanding performance where he captured a total of six Championship and 12 Reserve Championship titles and was named the 2012 Winter Equestrian Festival’s Leading Junior Jumper Rider.

A student in his hometown of Caracas, Andrade divides his time between competing in Venezuela and in the United States.  He trains with Karolyi, a member of the Venezuelan gold medal team at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games, and renowned horsewoman Andrea King of Hollow Creek Farm in Aiken, South Carolina.  For more information on Hollow Creek Farm, a large training business focusing on both horses and riders, please visit www.hollowcreekfarms.com.
