August 15, 2012 – Petaluma, CA – Marisa Hutton of Santa Barbara, CA, was awarded a $1,000 bonus by SSG Riding Gloves as part of its ‘Go Clean for the Green’ promotion after winning the $10,000 Aubrey Grace Memorial Children’s/Adult Amateur Classic on August 5 during the Giant Steps Charity Classic at the Sonoma Horse Park in Petaluma, CA.

Riding Larissa, a 12-year-old German Warmblood mare owned by Eldorado 29, Hutton topped a competitive field of 36 to take the win. More than half of the competitors were wearing SSG ‘Digital’ gloves, giving them a chance to win the $1,000 bonus.

“I really like the gloves,” said Hutton, who trains with Samantha and William Martin. “I didn’t really ride with gloves before this. I borrowed a friend’s pair and wore them for a few days before the class and ended up going out and buying my own pair.”

She continued, “I think the promotion is really smart. It definitely pushed me to buy my SSG ‘Digitals’ more quickly and it adds that extra incentive to do well.”

Harley Brown was not wearing SSG ‘Digital’ Gloves when he rode Cassiato to victory in the $30,000 Eden Valley Stables Grand Prix. As the bonus money rolls over, a $3,000 bonus is now up for grabs during the $15,000 Grand Prix at the HMI August Classic held August 22 to 26.

In its California debut, SSG Riding Gloves is offering a total of $12,000 in bonus money to competitors through its innovative ‘Go Clean for the Green’ promotion at the Sonoma Horse Park. Sonoma Horse Park joins the FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival, Kentucky Horse Shows and Thunderbird Show Park in offering the SSG ‘Go Clean for the Green’ incentive promotion.

Designed to reward competitors for their loyalty to the SSG Riding Gloves brand, SSG offers a bonus of $1,000 to the winning rider in designated grand prix events at Sonoma Horse Park if they are wearing SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves with the horse head logo clearly visible. If the winning rider is not wearing SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves, the bonus money is carried forward to the next event, increasing from $1,000 to $2,000, etc. The same format applies in the designated Junior/Amateur-Owner, Children’s Jumper and Children/Adult Amateur Classics where another $1,000 bonus is on offer.

The following events are still to come in the 2012 SSG Riding Gloves ‘Go Clean for the Green’ bonus promotion at Sonoma Horse Park:

HMI August Classic (A) - August 22 - 26, 2012

$15,000 Grand Prix
