March 30, 2012 – Wellington, FL Charlotte Jacobs, who claimed $3,000 in bonus money as part of the SSG Riding Gloves ‘Go Clean for the Green’ promotion, has donated her bonus to Danny and Ron’s Rescue.

As the $1,000 weekly bonus had gone unclaimed the previous two weeks, Jacobs was awarded a bonus totalling $3,000 from SSG Riding Gloves for winning the $10,000 High Junior Jumper Classic riding Kachina on Saturday, March 17, while wearing SSG ‘Digital’ riding gloves.  Jacobs, who is applying to be part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and is unable accept payment as an amateur athlete, elected to donate the $3,000 she had won to Danny and Ron’s Rescue.

Based in Camden, South Carolina, Danny and Ron’s Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing unwanted and abused dogs and placing them in loving new homes.  Jacobs adopted Chuli, a Corgi/Chihuahua-cross that was rescued from a puppy mill, two years ago.  Clover, whose breeding also includes Chihuahua, is the newest addition to the family.

“I have two dogs that I adopted from them, including Clover who I just got last week,” said Jacobs, 17, of East Aurora, New York.  “Ron and Danny are the nicest people, and they are doing a great thing.”

By the end of week 11 of the 12-week FTI Winter Equestrian Festival, 523 dogs from Danny and Ron’s Rescue had been adopted within the horse community.  To date, Danny and Ron’s Rescue has placed more than 4,000 dogs in new homes.

“This is so meaningful for Danny and I; for Charlotte to even think of doing this is very moving for us,” said Ron Danta, who runs the charitable organization with his partner, Danny Robertshaw.  “We started this journey as a passion, and we had hoped that it would trickle down to the younger generations.  It is so rewarding to see a young person like Charlotte thinking in that light.  By doing this, she is making a real difference and is going to save a lot more lives.  She is leading the way and setting the example.  We send our gratitude to Charlotte and her family for their support.”
