March 17, 2012 – Wellington, FL Charlotte Jacobs, 17, claimed a $3,000 bonus after winning the $10,000 High Junior Jumper Classic while wearing SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves on Saturday, March 17, at the FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida.

Part of the SSG Riding Gloves ‘Go Clean for the Green’ promotion, the bonus money for the Junior Jumper Classic had increased to $3,000 for week 10 of the Winter Equestrian Festival.  Riders put on their SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves with the horse head logo clearly visible in the hopes of claiming the bonus.  Only eight jumped clear to move forward to the jump-off and, in the end, Charlotte Jacobs emerged victorious over Lillie Keenan and Lydia Ulrich to claim the $3,000 bonus.

“I think it is great,” said Jacobs of the SSG Riding Gloves ‘Go Clean for the Green’ promotion.  “It makes it more competitive.  You are always doing your best to win, but it is fun when you get a little extra!”

Jacobs of East Aurora, NY, was aboard Kachina, her father’s former grand prix mount.  Jacobs began riding the big chestnut mare at the beginning of the year and was showing Kachina in the High Junior Jumper Classic for the first time.

“She is amazing; she always jumps amazing!” said Jacobs.  “I have been showing in the Highs for three years, and this is my first High Classic win in Palm Beach!”

The SSG Riding Gloves ‘Go Clean for the Green’ promotion offers a bonus of $3,000 each week in the WEF Challenge Cup Series.  In the weekly High Junior Jumper Classic and High Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic, a bonus of $1,000 is offered.  Any bonus money not awarded is carried forward to the next week.  As the bonus was not awarded in this week’s $15,000 High Amateur-Owner Classic, it will double to $2,000 for week 11.

SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves are available for purchase at numerous Wellington locations, including Tackeria, as well as on-site at the FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival show grounds at Running Fox, Beval Saddlery, Hadfield’s Saddlery, Ann K Hubbard’s Tack Shop and Jods.
