February 24, 2012 – Wellington, FL Two weeks after laying claim to the $32,000 WEF Challenge Cup Round V, Kent Farrington returned to the winner’s circle to take the title, and another $3,000 bonus from SSG Riding Gloves, in the $32,000 WEF Challenge Cup Round VII at the FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida.

The original starting field of 73 entries was narrowed down to 16 for the jump-off.  Katie Dinan, 17, had held the lead with a time of 38.27 riding Nougat du Vallet, but it was soon relinquished to Farrington who was clear in a time of 37.87 seconds.  Having claimed victory two weeks earlier with Uceko, Farrington was aboard his mount of only a month, Voyeur, for his win in the $32,000 WEF Challenge Cup Round VII.  On both occasions, Farrington was wearing SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves to claim a $3,000 bonus.

“Any kind of rider bonus or rider incentive is great for the sport,” said Farrington of the popular SSG Riding Gloves ‘Go Clean for the Green’ promotion.  “There is not a lot of that in the sport, and I applaud SSG for offering rider rewards.”

Asked how he planned to spend the $6,000 in bonus money he has won so far, Farrington answered, “Wisely.”

The SSG Riding Gloves ‘Go Clean for the Green’ promotion offers a bonus of $3,000 each week to the winner of the WEF Challenge Cup Series.  In the weekly Junior Jumper High Classic and Amateur-Owner Jumper High Classic, a bonus of $1,000 is offered.  Any bonus money not awarded is carried forward to the next week.  For week seven, a $1,000 bonus is up for grabs in the Amateur-Owner Jumper High Classic while the bonus has grown to $4,000 for the Junior Jumper High Classic.

SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves are available for purchase at numerous Wellington locations, including Tackeria, as well as on-site at the FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival show grounds at Running Fox, Beval Saddlery, Hadfield’s Saddlery, Ann K Hubbard’s Tack Shop and Jods.
