February 10, 2012 – Wellington, FL From a record starting field of 107 entries, Kent Farrington emerged victorious to win the $3,000 SSG Riding Gloves bonus after posting the fastest jump-off time in the $32,000 WEF Challenge Cup Round V at the FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida.

A total of 17 horses advanced to the jump-off in Thursday’s competition including Farrington and his 2011 Pan American Games team gold medal partner, Uceko.  As the second to last rider in the International Arena for the jump-off, Farrington posted a time of 40.77 seconds to take the win.  By wearing SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves throughout the competition, Farrington picked up a $3,000 cash bonus from SSG Riding Gloves in addition to his share of the prize money.

“I think it’s a great idea,” said Farrington of the popular SSG Riding Gloves ‘Go Clean for the Green’ promotion, now in its second year.  “Any time there is bonus money for the riders and in the sport, it’s fantastic.”

The SSG Riding Gloves ‘Go Clean for the Green’ promotion offers a bonus of $3,000 each week to the winner of the WEF Challenge Series.  In the weekly Junior Jumper High Classic and Amateur-Owner Jumper High Classic, a bonus of $1,000 is offered.  Any bonus money not awarded is carried forward to the next week.  For week five, a $3,000 bonus is up for grabs in the Amateur-Owner Jumper High Classic while the bonus has doubled to $2,000 for the Junior Jumper High Classic.

SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves are available for purchase at numerous Wellington locations, including Tackeria, as well as on-site at the FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival show grounds at Running Fox, Beval Saddlery, Hadfield’s Saddlery, Ann K Hubbard’s Tack Shop and Jods.
