Windsor, Ontario – The Ram Truck brand has partnered with Equestrian Management Group (EMG) as the official vehicle of the Caledon Equestrian Park in Palgrave, Ontario.

The Caledon Equestrian Park is set against the Niagara Escarpment and hosts numerous Olympic, World Championship and Pan American Games selection trials for Canada’s show jumping and dressage teams.  It attracts approximately 250,000 people per year.

Through its official vehicle sponsorship, Ram Trucks will be on display at every event taking place at the Caledon Equestrian Park from dressage and quarter horse competitions to Trillium and Gold-rated show jumping events. In addition, Ram Truck is the title sponsor of several Grand Prix show jumping competitions, including the upcoming Canadian Show Jumping Tournament, scheduled for September 21-25, 2011.

“Our Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge and Ram dealers chose to partner with Caledon Equestrian Park because it is a perfect fit for the Ram Truck brand,” said Ed Broadbear, Vice President, Marketing, Chrysler Canada.  “Our Ram trucks have developed a strong reputation for being both powerful and reliable, making them ideal for towing precious equine cargo.”

“We’ve had great exposure for our Ram trucks at events throughout the province thanks in great part to our Rodeo and Equestrian programs.  The beauty is that we don’t need to make the Ram trucks fit into an environment they are not familiar with, they just naturally do and consumers take notice of them,” said Al Rams, President, Ontario Dealer Advertising Association for Chrysler Canada.

“There were no automobile companies with us, so RAM stepped in and filled a void,” said Craig Collins, Managing Partner of Equestrian Management Group.  “Their dealers have vehicles on site that people can test drive, and they have had several truck deals as a result, which we are pleased to see. And I’ve become their number one salesman – I bought a Dodge RAM 2500 truck, and it is terrific!”

The relationship between Ram Truck and Caledon Equestrian Park began in 2010, when the Ontario Dealers wanted to expand their successful Ram Rodeo Tour into the realm of equestrian sport.  The Ontario Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge and Ram dealers sponsored the 2010 Canadian Show Jumping Tournament and found it to be successful, therefore deciding to return with a bigger commitment for 2011.  Ram Trucks now have exposure throughout the year at the Caledon Equestrian Park, and are a major sponsor at the Canadian Show Jumping Tournament.

In addition to having on-site vehicle displays and offering consumer test drives on-site, the Ram Truck brand also provides vehicles for competition officials throughout the year.  Ram Truck signage abounds in the Caledon Equestrian Park, including within the competition rings.

About Ram Truck Brand
The Ram Truck brand continues to establish its own identity and clearly define its customer since its launch as the newest Chrysler Group LLC vehicle brand.  Creating a stand-alone brand for Ram trucks has allowed the brand to concentrate on how core customers use their trucks and what new features they'd like to see.  Whether focusing on a family that uses its halfton truck day in and day out, a hard-working Ram Heavy Duty owner or a business that depends on its commercial vehicles every day, Ram has the truck market covered.

For 2011, the Ram Truck brand added the hardest-working Ram trucks — the Ram 3500, 4500 and 5500 Chassis Cab trucks — to its already award-winning truck lineup which includes the rugged and reliable Dakota, the Ram Cargo Van, Ram 1500 – the most-awarded Ram truck ever – and Ram 2500/3500 Heavy Duty pickups.

The 2011 Ram 1500 was named a Consumers Digest Best Buy and AUTOMOBILE Magazine All-Star. Ram 1500's smooth-riding suspension and 10.2 L/100 km (28 hwy mpg), 390 hp HEMI V8 are just two of the reasons it beat the competition.

The Ram Truck brand has the most innovative lineup of full-size trucks on the market. Ram Truck has emerged as a full-size truck leader by investing substantially in new products, infusing them with great looks, refined interiors, durable engines and features that further enhance their capabilities.  Ram trucks now boast these segment exclusives:

  • Coil spring rear suspension on Ram 1500 for best-in-class ride and handling
  • Available RamBox® lockable and lighted bedside storage
  • In-floor storage on all Ram crew cabs
  • Unsurpassed torque with 800 lb. ft
  • Best-in-class towing with 22,750 lbs
  • Only HD diesel truck not to require the cost and inconvenience of Diesel Exhaust Fluid

Truck customers – from half-ton to commercial – have a demanding range of needs and require their vehicles to provide high levels of capability. Ram Trucks are designed to deliver a total package.
