January 24, 2011 – Wellington, FL – Of the six events held so far in the SSG Riding Gloves ‘Go Clean for the Green’ promotion held during the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL, five were won by riders wearing SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves.

Yann Candele won a $3,000 bonus from SSG Riding Gloves for winning the $30,000 WEF Challenge Cup Series Round I while Catherine Pasmore picked up her $3,000 bonus during week two for winning the $30,000 WEF Challenge Cup Series Round II. It marked the second bonus for Pasmore, as she also claimed a $1,000 bonus for her win in the Amateur-Owner High Jumper Classic on Saturday, January 15.

Jay Land of Atlanta, GA, won the Amateur-Owner High Jumper Classic on Saturday, January 22, wearing SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves to earn the $1,000 bonus. Land was the final jump-off challenger, guiding Nepal to victory.

“I have lots of SSG Riding Gloves, but not the ‘Digital’ style, so my wife, Kim, went and found them for me,” said Land. “Last week, we could only get a pair that was two sizes too big because all the stores were selling out, but I got a pair in the proper size for this week, and I won! I love riding in them.”

With $2,000 in bonus money on offer, the stakes were high in the Amateur-Owner Low Jumper Classic on Sunday, January 23. During week one, the winner, Madeline Cox, was not wearing SSG ‘Digitals,’ therefore the $1,000 bonus was not awarded. Instead, it carried forward, bringing the total bonus to $2,000 for week two. Cox was not about to make the same mistake twice. She cantered into the ring aboard Kix in a pair of brand new SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves, and came out the winner of the $2,000 bonus.

“I don’t normally wear gloves when I ride which is why I didn’t have them last week,” explained Cox, 20, of Princeton, NJ. “I was pretty bummed that I didn’t have the gloves because it’s a great promotion, so I decided to invest in them this week. Now they are my lucky gloves!”

SSG Riding Gloves is offering a total of $57,000 in cash bonuses for riders competing at the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival running January 12 through April 3 in Wellington, FL. The SSG ‘Go Clean for the Green’ promotion is offered in the weekly WEF Challenge Cup Series, the Amateur-Owner Jumper Low Classic, and the Amateur-Owner Jumper High Classic competitions.

For the weekly WEF Challenge Cup Series held each Thursday, a $3,000 cash bonus will be awarded to the winning rider if they compete wearing SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves with the SSG horse head logo clearly visible on the wrist. If the winning rider is not wearing SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves, the money will carry forward and be added to the following week’s bonus, bringing the total bonus to $6,000, $9,000, etc.

For the weekly Amateur-Owner Jumper Low Classic and the weekly Amateur-Owner Jumper High Classic, a prize money bonus of $1,000 will be awarded to the winning rider if they compete wearing SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves with the SSG horse head logo clearly visible on the wrist. If not awarded, the bonus money carries forward, bringing the next week’s total to $2,000, $3,000, etc.

Cash bonuses will be given directly to the rider during the award presentations in front of the SSG Riding Gloves signature jump by either Ed James of SSG Riding Gloves or Jennifer Ward of Starting Gate Communications, who will be managing and handling publicity for the ‘Go Clean for the Green’ promotion.

SSG ‘Digital’ Riding Gloves are available for purchase at numerous Wellington locations, including Tackeria, as well as on-site at the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival show grounds at Running Fox.
