Cornerstone Announces 2010 Calendar
Including CDI3* Dressage Competition

January 14, 2010 – Palgrave, ON – Cornerstone will host the CDI3* Spring Into Dressage competition from June 4 to 6, 2010, in addition to two other national gold dressage competitions, the Cornerstone Summer Festival from July 16-18 and the Cornerstone Summer Classic from August 20-22. Cornerstone’s annual hunter/jumper competition will be held June 23-27. All four equestrian competitions will be held at the Caledon Equestrian Park in Palgrave, ON, which is the equestrian venue for the 2015 Pan American Games.

The CDI3* Spring Into Dressage competition will represent an opportunity for Canada’s top dressage athletes to earn qualifying scores for the upcoming 2010 World Equestrian Games in Lexington, KY. In addition to showcasing the Grand Prix division, sponsored by Dutch Masters Construction Ltd., the CDI3* Spring Into Dressage also offers FEI-sanctioned competition in the Advanced, Young Riders’, Junior, and Five and Six-Year-Old Young Horse divisions.

No fewer than five FEI ‘O’ judges will officiate at the CDI3* Spring Into Dressage competition including Stephen Clarke of Great Britain, Anne Gribbons of the United States, Libby McMullen of Canada, Maribel Alonso de Quinzanos of Mexico, and Axel Steiner of the United States. FEI ‘I’ judges Gabriel Armando of Argentina, Marian Cunningham of Peru and Lorraine MacDonald and Lorraine Stubbs, both of Canada, will also officiate.

Spread throughout seven competition rings at the spacious Caledon Equestrian Park, a national gold level dressage show offering all divisions from walk/trot through to grand prix will be held in conjunction with the CDI3* Spring Into Dressage. As a special treat for spectators, a luncheon showcasing the Grand Prix Freestyles to music will be held on Sunday, June 6, in the Grand Prix Pavilion. Tickets go on sale May 1 and may be purchased through the Cornerstone website, www.cornerstonefarms.com.

In addition to the CDI3* Spring Into Dressage competition, Cornerstone will also host two Equine Canada-sanctioned national gold level dressage shows. The Cornerstone Summer Festival will run from July 16-18 followed by the Cornerstone Summer Classic from August 20-22.

Cornerstone will also host its annual hunter/jumper competition at the Caledon Equestrian Park from June 23-27, offering a full slate of hunter and jumper classes. FEI ‘O’ course designer, David Ballard, will oversee the tracks in the grand prix ring while Evie Frisque will handle course designing duties in the main hunter arena.

“We are very excited to offer our exhibitors four high quality events this year,” said Barbara Mitchell, Co-Chair of Cornerstone. “FEI-sanctioned dressage competitions are extremely important for the continued development of the sport in Canada, and to be able to run our show at the venue for the 2015 Pan American Games provides a great opportunity for our riders.

“Equestrian Management Group has also graciously allowed us to run our hunter/jumper competitions at the Caledon Equestrian Park this year,” continued Mitchell. “We will be bringing our own jumps and decorations to provide exhibitors with the unique flair they have become accustomed to at the Cornerstone events.”
