September 2, 2008 – Québec, Québec – Cavalor Canada wishes to congratulate two of its sponsored riders on their outstanding success at the recent 2008 Olympic Games. Eric Lamaze claimed the Individual Gold Medal and, joined by Ian Millar, who is also sponsored by Cavalor Canada, led Canada to the Team Silver Medal.

Cavalor has sponsored World Champion Jos Lansink of Belgium for several years, and can now also count the Olympic Champion among its roster of sponsored athletes. In a jump-off for the Gold Medal, Lamaze, 40, of Schomberg, ON, was clear riding Hickstead to win the Olympic title.

Three days earlier, Canada was also involved in a jump-off for the Gold Medal with the United States. In a world record-tying ninth Olympic appearance, it was Millar’s faultless performance in the second round of the Team Final riding In Style which forced the jump-off. Despite settling for Silver, it marked only the second Olympic Team Medal ever won by Canada, with the first coming 40 years earlier at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City. Joining Millar and Lamaze in the Team Silver Medal effort were Mac Cone and Jill Henselwood with Terrance Millar acting as chef d’equipe.

Cavalor Canada is proud to support both Lamaze and Millar and their horses through its extensive product line of feed supplements and nutraceuticals designed to enhance sport horse health and performance.

“Eric proved that he and Hickstead are the best in the world by claiming the Individual Gold Medal, and to watch Eric and Ian, along with their teammates Mac Cone and Jill Henselwood, secure a Team Silver Medal for Canada was a very proud moment for our sport and for our country,” said Francis Berger, Cavalor Canada’s Director, Business Development. “Cavalor Canada extends its sincerest congratulations to Eric and Ian, and is extremely gratified to know that Cavalor Canada and its products have played a role in their success.”
