October 20, 2006 – Toronto, Ontario – Renowned Canadian artist Charles Pachter has created the award for the Jump Canada Hall of Fame. The awards will be presented to inductees of the Jump Canada Hall of Fame during the inaugural gala and ceremony on Sunday, November 5, at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto, ON.

With his unique brand of wit and creativity, Pachter's concept represents the horse and rider at the pinnacle of their partnership, reaching great heights in their sporting achievements. The philosophy of the artist's rendering is reflected in the inductees of the Jump Canada Hall of Fame, who have each contributed immeasurably to the growth and success of the Canadian hunter/jumper community.

Created from metal, the dramatic master award measures 40 inches in height and is mounted on a polished green marble base. Inductees will be presented with a smaller version, measuring 26 inches and mounted on a co-coordinating base.

"Charles Pachter is one of Canada's most celebrated contemporary artists," noted Mark Samuel, Chair of the Jump Canada Hall of Fame as well as Past Chair of Jump Canada. "We are thrilled to have partnered with him to create the Hall of Fame award, and feel that his creation is both unique and powerful. The eye-catching silhouette of horse, rider and cliff captures a sense of perseverance, partnership and excellence. The horse is reaching upward, representing achievement and a bridge to the future. What a perfect image to have associated with our Hall of Fame!"

Born in Toronto, Pachter is a painter, printmaker, sculptor and designer, and his most famous images feature the moose and the Queen as the subject matter. His work graces such varied objects as the Toronto Stock Exchange, the Canadian Embassy in Washington, a Toronto subway station, and the cover of Margaret Atwood's novel, 'Journals of Susanna Moodie'. In 1997, Pachter created his Moose Factory Gallery in downtown Toronto, one block from the Art Gallery of Ontario. For more information on Pachter and his work, please visit www.cpachter.com.
