The Flying Frenchman to 'Jump For a Just World'

“The Flying Frenchman”
January 14, 2005 – Wellington, Florida – The second annual ‘Jump for a Just World’ fundraiser, taking place January 21 and 22, 2005, at Belle Herbe Farm in Wellington, Florida, has added some exciting international entertainment to its line-up.

Direct from France, three brothers known as ‘The Flying Frenchman’ will perform acts of acrobatic excellence, surrounded by the spectacular use of fire, including jumping a grand prix course on foot. The French entertainers have performed at many international show jumping competitions in Europe, and their appearance at the ‘Jump for a Just World’ fundraiser will make for unique live entertainment. Those interested in only attending this event, held Saturday, January 22 at 9 p.m., may buy tickets for a price of $20 US.

“The flair and excitement of this performance will make it fun for everyone,” noted JustWorld International Executive Director Jessica Newman, 29. “In addition to the training show, the dinner and dancing, and the live auction, I am certain that our guests will have a fantastic time while also contributing to a great cause.”

Based on the overwhelming success of the inaugural event held in 2004, the ‘Jump for a JustWorld’ fundraiser is held for the benefit of JustWorld International, a not-for-profit, humanitarian organization founded to prepare and empower students to become visionary leaders and work for social justice. A two-day Training Show, open to hunters, jumpers and ponies, will feature courses designed by Puerto Rico’s Hector Loyola on Belle Herbe Farm’s state of the art grass grand prix field, offering an ideal warm-up for the Winter Equestrian Festival.

The second annual ‘Jump for a Just World’ fundraiser will conclude on Saturday evening with cocktails, dinner, music and a live auction featuring training sessions with some of the biggest names in the sport, such as French Olympian Herve Godingon. Other remarkable items offered on the auction block include a stunning bronze horse sculpture, a hand-carved wooden carousel horse, an original painting by a Honduran artist, handmade wooden trunks and a coffee table from Honduras, goods from Idlewood Stables, and beautiful jewelry.

JustWorld International Rider Representatives expected to be in attendance include Kevin Babington of Ireland, Angela Covert and Eric Lamaze of Canada, Herve Godignon and Eric Navet of France, Candice King and Ray Texel of the United States, and Titi Mills of Honduras.

The cost for participating in the Training Show is $175 per round, while tickets for the Dinner and Live Auction are $150. Tickets for ‘The Flying Frenchman’ performance only are $20. Last year’s event, which raised $90,000 for JustWorld International, was completely sold out, so make your entries and get your tickets early by contacting Belle Herbe Farm at tel: (561) 792-0552.

Founded in 2002, JustWorld International offers fellowship programs for students from around the globe to learn leadership skills and acquire the tools necessary to make a positive difference in the world. With three project sites located in Cambodia, Honduras and Senegal, students are working for change in a wide variety of environments on behalf of JustWorld International.
